TIPS FOR DEFINING YOUR BRAND VALUES
Here are our tips to define your brand values:
We’ve had several chats about colour with a lot of our clients recently, all the conversations we had covered colour reflecting personality, tone of voice and of course brand values.
Understandably, some of you may now be thinking… what on earth are we talking about??
Stick with us…
Tone of Voice
Generally speaking, tone of voice (TOV) is a non-verbal form of characterisation for example:
Overall presentation, appearance, body language etc.
TOV a is vital element of communication that more often than not “speaks” far louder than words.
Your brand is built on your own unique personality, everything you do, say or choose to represent you, reflects it. These define your brand values.
Use of Colour
We have talked about colour perceptions and their meanings around the world previously and it never ceases to amaze us how few people put any sort of emotional value into the colours that represent their persona.
If you were a Bradford City fan like our Creative Director, then some of you may think that claret and amber were the colours that represent him, especially if you saw him heading off to a game. But you’d be mistaken, although if you mix the two together you do get a variation of his favourite colour, funny that!
Sure, that is one of his passions but it doesn’t reflect him as an individual, or the way he is with people, not during downtime, uptime or anytime, except Bradford City time of course.
Have you ever stopped to think for a moment what the colours used in your visual brand identity, or the packaging protecting your offering say about you, your product or your brand? These define your brand values.
If you’ve thought this through, excellent!
If not, well here’s an opportunity to step up the brand building ladder by applying some proper meaning to and defining your brand values.
So… what colour are you?
