The Client:
Isle of Skye Distillers Limited, based in Portree, are an independent, family-run business and creators of the multi-award-winning Misty Isle Gin and Misty Isle Vodka. Their range of premium gins are handcrafted and distilled locally, in fact they are the only independent distilling house on the Isle of Skye.
Aims & Objectives:
The clients wanted a complete make-over, they wanted to have eye-catching packaging designs, from the bespoke design of their bottles, to the cork stoppers, their labelling and outer packaging. Working closely with the client, we developed a simple but powerful concept.
The Result: Capturing the Spirit of Skye in Premium Packaging Design
When Isle of Skye Distillers needed packaging that reflected the breathtaking beauty of their surroundings, we delivered a design that marries elegance and authenticity.
Bringing the Isle of Skye to Life
Inspired by the sea and landscapes of the Isle of Skye, we positioned the textured glass bottle to evoke the surrounding waters. Each label represents a unique iconic Munro or peak contour, creating a harmonious connection between land and sea.
Meticulous Craftsmanship
To highlight the distillery’s heritage and craftsmanship, we incorporated:
- Metallic Copper Embellishments: A nod to the copper stills used in distillation.
- Debossed Topography: Textured Tintoretto paper with clear foil accents to enhance the contour details.
- Raised Typography: Clear varnish typography ensures balance and premium appeal.
- Stamped Copper Cork Stoppers: The bespoke copper coin design adds value and elevates the unboxing experience.
A Seamless Blend of Design and Function
The result is packaging that complements the bottle’s architecture perfectly while encapsulating the Isle of Skye’s essence. From the raised textures to the elegant colour palette, every element reflects the brand’s premium quality and its connection to its surroundings.
