PROTECT YOUR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY (IP) RIGHTS – TAKE CONTROL

Have you ever thought about your Intellectual Property Rights (IP) ?

Following a very recent distress call for help…

We thought it might be useful to share a piece of straight-forward advice to those of you about to undertake an important step in your business development.

Protect your Intellectual Property Rights (IP).

Our aim is to try to ensure that you, or a business you know, don’t end up in a pickle, entrapped by any unethical practices.

It’s totally your call of course.

However, when starting to work with anyone on any project,

Ask them upfront, to assure you (in writing) that:

All the Intellectual Property Rights (IP) to everything produced for you, which you pay for, belongs to you.

It’s a perfectly reasonable request, but often overlooked.

This avoids being held to ransom every time you want or need to use what is already yours, bought and paid for, in the first place.

We’ve seen this happen in many ways, even, for example, having a website built without a content management system that you can administer yourself.

No prizes for guessing the reasons there then.

Of course, we’re not telling you what to do.

You may be perfectly happy in a similar arrangement already.

We’re simply saying that this will save you a lot of frustration, upset and time either renegotiating control of your property, or having to start all over again.

Ask the question.

At least you’ll know where you stand from the outset.

We can point you in the direction of professionals who can advise on the issues of intellectual property

So don’t struggle, if you need recommendations just ask.
